'Value for Money’ Adventure Tours
All Indus Adventures wildlife safaris, mountain treks, bird watching tours and adventure safaris are ‘Value for Money’ trips.
Our philosophy is to give more people the opportunity to go on a ‘Adventure Holiday’ and see the natural world at a affordable price.
We have priced the same tours lower than most operators by reducing our profit margins but offering the same facilities, the same hotels and guides without cutting corners.
Our Principle
This principle of ours of greater frequency of tourists at a ‘value price’ benefits our hosts and stake holders whom you visit on our tours.
Our hosts are able to sell more of their rooms and other products and this in turn increases their turnover, thus benefiting them economically.
It is our principle, as far as practicable, to source all men, materials, products and services locally in the areas and routes that we operate so that the money spent by the tourists remain with the locals.
Our Philosophy of Sustainable Tourism
Indus Adventures philosophy differs in the travel business from others in that our business is for the benefit of our hosts whom you visit on your journeys with us.
Our Sustainable Tourism Policy is to develop and sustain the communities whom you visit on our tours.
The idea behind Sustainable Tourism Development is, of course, that tourism should ‘sustain’ its own resource and benefit its stakeholders.
Resources that Sustain tourism
This might be conservation of water, or the natural unspoilt beauty of the country, beaches of clean white sand, or the profusion and variety of flowers, plants, birds and animals ( biodiversity ), traditional ways of life and cultural heritage.
Conserve these - the reasons for people to visit an area - and tourism can ‘sustain’ the local community for centuries. Degrade or destroy and the resource will be lost for ever and often with it the economic viability of the community.
Our Contribution to the Host Communities
A part of the money you pay us for your trip goes to the host community for setting up an enterprise for income generation, thus benefiting the local community long after you have gone.
We work in partnership with the stakeholders, service providers and local communities that you visit on our tours and help them set up income generating local community enterprises for their economic uplift.
We endeavor to offer fairer trading partnerships and work alongside the local communities to develop and preserve their natural tourism assets for their and their future generations benefit.
Incentives for the Host Communities for Conservation
Your participation in any of Indus Adventures tours provides the money to the local communities that you visit and is an incentive for them to conserve the environment, the culture and the bio-diversity (animals, plants, environment etc.) for the long term health of tourism of the area.
Each tour you undertake with us supports local community enterprises wherever possible and contributes towards the survival of our and their business and the environment.
As far as possible we employ local guides, porters, trek animals and buy locally produced food products so the money we spend benefits the hosts which is the incentive for them to conserve their environment.
Our Interpretation of Sustainable Tourism
Indus Adventures interpretation of Sustainable Tourism is to help the communities that you visit in any of our tours by funding a local enterprise with a percentage of the money that you pay us and in turn they sustain their environment. The local communities benefit directly from your travels in their area as we employ local guides, source supplies locally and use local accommodation as far as possible.
Our tour operations ( and your money ) acts as an incentive to the stakeholders to conserve and preserve the environment and the bio-diversity within for future generations knowing their livelihood depends on it.
The wilderness and the remote areas where our adventure tours operate is coming under progressively more pressure from tourism, deforestation, habitat destruction and the population. Conserving these is everyones concern and responsibility.
Our Contribution to Sustainable Tourism
Indus Adventures differs in it’s approach to conventional wildlife and adventure travel and tourism. We don’t think only in terms of returns and profits but have a more rounded approach, recognizing environmental and social concerns and providing local communities with the economic incentives to conserve their environment and culture for future generations.
‘INITIATIVES’ we and our partners have taken to benefit the Host Communities
We invite you to read through our web pages and see for yourself the ‘INITIATIVES’ that we and our partners have taken for the local communities where we have been operating and the positive steps taken towards ‘Sustainable and Responsible Tourism’.
